YouTube needs to make it easier for people to find live streams. My analytics shows no traffic from outside my subscriber base. We need a directory like Twitch for people to browse.

PLEASE let us "edit" our really long VODS. Some of us play video games where we get TROLLS that use our live stream to shout out our real names, addresses, etc. Instead of having to delete the entire 7-12 hour VOD just let me clip out the bad "stream sniper" moments. I don't want to leave a VOD up where people are saying bad things in the chat.

I have been going live every Monday for 3 years. It's a great way to stay connected with the most dedicated fans. They really look forward to getting together weekly. However, every livestream results in a negative subscriber count. I do wish we could edit the video with YT studio afterward and NOT lose the livechat playback.

I think we're gonna need you to do better for the livestreaming section this year. Twitch is nailing it and while they don't have the discoverability nailed down yet, it's only a matter of time.

Youtube essentially only has discoverability if you already have a fanbase from your videos, also it's impossible to find streamers because there's no proper UI yet like on Twitch. Say I want to watch streams that are exclusively Vtubers or perhaps art streams, I'd like to be able to find them easier than I currently can.

A proper livestream section that can be incorporated into the current format would by far be the best option, and is something a lot of people have asked for, please consider putting more work into it for 2024

YouTube needs to do a lot more to help people who livestream on mobile devices. Mobile Livestreams are too basic.

Can you fix the UI For mobile Live? Right now the subscriber button and like button are hidden from the live experience. - We are seeing a pretty big collapse in Subs/likes for streams because of this. Also, engagement tools like hype trains would be appreciated. Channel members and super chats still feel too hidden. - I think all streamers would use live AD automation if a tier of channel memberships came with the option for ad free viewing While live, but still receiving them post stream in the VOD

YouTube needs to start focusing on live streams too. Many streamers want to leave other platforms. There is a lack of financial incentive for lives and more recommendations for lives. Youtube we count on you for all streamers to stay here.

Have been livestreaming on YouTube for a few years now, I hope you guys are gonna improve the experience on the Live Dashboard, there is not nearly as much there as there should be compared to Twitch.

One thing I would be interested in knowing more about with live streaming is why top chat exists on YouTube. Every creator and viewer I know complains that chat defaults to top chat and they miss out on most of the comments because they only appear in live chat. Please can you explain why top chat is necessary or remove it completely to make the chatting experience better?

When I switched from daily videos to daily streams about 1 year ago. I have people commenting all the time, "I thought you stopped making content, didn't realize you are streaming" with notifications on, how would that happen?
There is definetely an impact and a huge difference between how videos are advertised compared to streams.

I have almost 15k subscribers, which I earned in under two years. I'd be lucky to get ten viewers on a livestream on Youtube. Twitch is destroying you guys and have been for a long time. And as always; your monetization requirements are ridiculous. You continuously delete hours from the previous year, making it impossible to gain traction, unless you suddenly go viral. Two straight years of work, over 9000 videos posted, 66k hours watchtime... and Youtube is basically telling me all that work is for nothing, accept seeing numbers SOMETIMES go up. Lower the monetization requirements. Or does all our work hold zero value to Youtube? A lot of us keep people on your website and we aren't being properly rewarded.

How about automated chapters for each game within a stream? Imagine xqc streaming on YouTube. There should be live chapters updating every time the game/category is manually updated or detected.

Hey, can you please add an HDR box in the "video quality" section of an upload? HDR often takes a LOT longer to process than 4K, and creators can be left wondering whether youtube even recognized the video as HDR at all, and if so, whether it's still processing or got stuck. Another box in that section can help reduce the number of unnecessary re-uploads, as well as unnecessary support requests. And it just makes sense.

when live streaming 4-6 hrs at a time (weekly) the past streams were left up for people to rewatch. However the issue i came across was if they watch 15-20 mins its still a small % of the total "video" which got allocated into my channels total retention % and ultimately lowered it. Once it deleted all of the older live streams I saw a boost in my videos being pushed into the Recommended sections.

PLEASE allow us to rearrange the order of our playlists as they appear under our "playlists" tab! (as of now, we must delete them all and manually create them again from scratch, which is too time consuming for those of us with hundreds or thousands of videos) Thank you.

I'd love to see the ability to set-up different Livestream templates in order to avoid having to reset everything: titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, etc. every single time. For someone who streams a lot of different stuff, this would be great.

Wow, livestream updates. Great. I’ve been asking for youtube to fix the chat window for YEARS. Maybe take a look at doing that?
