Honda CB750 Carb Rebuild - Setting Carburettor Float Height on a 1970 K0 Keihin | Part 6
Here's what I used:
Following a full strip-down and ultrasonic clean of my CB750 carbs, they're ready to be rebuilt to go back on the bike.
Having taken special care when stripping them down, I already knew which bolts, washers and jets go where when it comes to putting it back together.
However, what is a mystery is how well set up they were in the first place.
I am working on the assumption that the bike was running right before it was parked up for years, so I set the carbs up in the same way as they were before with regard to the air screw and the jetting.
While I have the float chamber apart, I decide to have a quick check of the float height against the manufacturers recommended setting of 26mm.
Noticing that the float heights are all over the place, I decided to carefully set them all correctly before reassembling the carbs.
This should ensure even running of the bike when we come to start it up and run it, fine-tuning on the other settings will need to be done when the bike is back together and running.
