THANK YOU!! for acknowledging that women have had agency and have worked hard for equal rights for ALL for generations!!! I agree that I often hear younger women not acknowledging the work we women of the fifties and sixties and seventies ( and thirties and forties) are trail blazers for the equalities and privledges they enjoy today. We must remember the fight we had for our rights over our bodies, our lives, our families and our financial well being. The fight obviously continues. And we must remain fierce in our dedication to this fight for all women and all people!

Just a little bit of filibuster trivia with regard to Biden's best friends and the role they played in civil rights. The record for the longest individual speech goes to South Carolina's Strom Thurmond the Democrat segregationist that filibustered for 24 hours and 18 minutes against the Civil Rights Act of 1957. That was the Congressional voting record Civil Rights Act in 1957, which created prohibitions against intimidating, coercing or otherwise interfering with the rights of persons to vote for the President and Members of Congress. Biden once called Thurmond his “closest friend.” Now it just so happens Biden was also good buddies with former KKK member Robert Byrd that also just so happened to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In fact, they were such good buddies that Biden gave his eulogy. Biden himself had very segregationist ideas on busing in schools and is well know for his "racial jungle" comment… so it's no surprise that Biden praised Strom Thurmond as his closest friend as they thought alike. Biden worked closely with his buddy Strom when he wrote his crime bills that disproportionately targeted black people. True story.

I think they should have highlighted Joe Biden's contributions to the civil rights movement. After all, he said he started it and then handed it off the 'them black boys' (as I'm sure he'd phrase it)

Why are all these actors British? Just curious.

The casting is only half right. I am tired of Black American actors and actresses not getting the opportunity to play our ancestors. Black Americans fought for these opportunities to even exist. When Black Americans start playing British roles, then this importing of foreign actors and actresses won't be so offensive. I'm so tired of the carpetbagging.

This is really insulting like they couldn’t find a black American woman actor to play Coretta Scott King. They had to find some tether?
