In Western South Dakota, there's an old adage that beavers are "bad." But beavers have enormous benefits to landowners. Their dams help slow water on the landscape, reducing flooding and minimizing erosion. That's why The Nature Conservancy in South Dakota is working with landowners and partners to install man-made structures in stream beds that mimic a beaver dam and provide the same benefits.

There is a bison ranch in Western South Dakota that is on the market that I would love to see as a conservation preservation project.

Instead of single-jacking those fence posts you’ve got to rent a hydraulic fence post driver. So much more productive that it’s cheaper. Even volunteer labor isn’t free.

I thought I was going to see some generous native shrub and tree planting but.. that was only 10 men hours per fencing and thats it? No addidtional restoration efforts

How do people find Capitol investors in order to have people preserve and conserve these grassland ranches? In order to prevent these critical habitats do not go to development.
