New Morgan & Morgan commercial… “Have you or a loved one handled or adjusted a Traxxas slipper clutch or been exposed to a Traxxas slipper clutch?”😂

The governments two favorite words are “permissible levels” its stunning what other countries consider dangerous and what bribes will do to make things legal in the U.S.

Hi. I live in the UK and I heard about the Traxxas recall today on Tomley RC's channel. I bought a used Traxxas Slash 2wd Gunk edition in 2018 on eBay UK and decided to use the link Phil provided for UK Traxxas owners to see if it was one of the models that's on the recall list, which it was. So I filled out their form with the Traxxas model and serial number and emailed it back. I did this because I have C.O.P.D lung disease, and even though the risk may be minimal if I work on that area of the Slash with such a tiny part containing Asbestos, it could still be a danger to my already failing health. I received a reply within the hour from them saying; Quote "Your vehicle(s) ARE affected. Based on the serial number(s) provided we have determined your vehicle(s) will need to be reworked by us (here in Kent). "We are currently processing the recall requests, so once we schedule in your vehicle we will be in touch with specific shipping instructions". It will be very interesting to see how things develop with this recall generally, and with the process of getting my Slash "reworked".

As many automotive brake jobs as I've done the last thing I'm worried about is those tiny little Traxxas slipper pads

I always end up going RTR so I can use it and enjoy it immediately and then plan ahead on what I'm going to replace. Kind of like a budget build.

Not related to the question, but Killerbodies' decision to plonk a Lancia Delta (4wd) body on a 2wd platform .... Lancia had the Stratos (Killerbodies already have the body/license to that one) or the 037 which are 2wd.
I know other manufacturers do that too.
I think there are too many accountants and not enough car people in the rc space.
I know in the end those are toys. But a 2wd Lancia Delta just rubs me the wrong way.
-Rant over-

That Rowering kit was definitely “voice to text” because the R and L are on different sides of the keyboard 😂

Hearing Tomley try to pronounce the word mesothelioma made this recall worth it.

Kits are my first choice. all my RTR's became modified shortly after purchasing.

When Asbestos was found in the shipping containers from Traxxas more than 12 months ago by Australian customs the containers were sealed and sent back to Traxxas. This has been one of the reasons there are almost no Traxxas parts or vehicles for sale in Australia. You can say Australia is a small market but I say traxxas has lost a lot of the market share in the last 18 months and is unlikely to get it back because of their slack attitude to safety. It’s shocking how slow this recall is in the rest of the world.

Australia has most of the world’s asbestos mines .

Kit all the way for me, most of my fun is the build.

I love a good kit, I wish they came out before the RTR's instead of after. That being said, rather than an ARTR maybe FMS has it right with a pro version RTR. Upgrade all the electronics for the people that want that version.

Gotta appreciate the sub par health regulations in the US.

Thumbs up to Carisma, I hope more manufacturers follow their lead and spare us the excess cheap transmitters!!!

Scratch built kit all the way! If I have to take it apart to make sure everything is lubricated and torqued correctly anyway. Then I might as well build the whole thing. That way, everything that is over tightened and stripped is my fault.

Killerbodies... the Lancia was a rear wheel drive that won several rallys when most others were running 4wd. I learned this info on Top Gear!

Damn Good Question Josh man ... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You and Nicole from me ( GrooverBen in Oz )... Hope you Legends had an Awesome well deserved break ?
To answer the question... Hmmm I am more interested in Building Kits or building custom stuff by combining different products together to achieve the RC Vehicle i want as an end result i do like some RTRs but the Electronics is one of the features that turns me off them ...unless its Spektrum, FlySky or Futaba electronics i know i will be Upgrading it at some point I'm a Freak though ...for me the Build is The Fun :) getting to drive it at the end is a bonus !! Stay Groovey
