My favorite thing about this cutscene is that penguin is standing on a table, and Batman uppercuts penguin and then lands on a table. Unfortunately this short cuts it off, but just a second after penguin is uppercut a different cutscene plays where both the table and the penguin go flying when Batman should have landed on the table.

The thing is, Rocksteady didn't make the remaster. Virtuos studios did.

In both versions, neither guard has missing fingers despite Penguin broadcasting the smashing of them over the speakers.

Idk how I missed this because I like to pay attention to the little details in these games. It also does the same thing in Origins after bane's first fight and Joker gets blasted off the roof. When Batman and Joker reach the lobby of the hotel, you can clearly see that his suit is heavily damaged but when that cutscene plays again when Joker is being interviewed by Harley, you can see that Batman's suit is completely fixed.

I just finished a playthrough of Arkham City with the remaster, and it looks pretty good in a vacuum. But aside from the environments and weather effects like snow falling on the characters, the original game does look better overall. The original lighting and color theory is more appealing. It also sucks to lose the perfect moody lighting of the pre-rendered cutscenes, but on the other hand it's nice to have the cutscenes match the outfit you're wearing since they're all in-engine. I can overlook the flaws since it makes playing on modern consoles so convenient, and not every change is a negative, I just wish they had done a bit more of a faithful remastering than what we got. It seems like the team was over-enthusiastic and wanted to sprucen up everything they could, without thinking about how that would change the overall experience

Also just noticed, in the original version of the game, in the cutscene after the freeze fight Batman’s suit will appear the same as before the fight, however after the cutscene finishes, the suit looks significantly more damaged.

This reminds me of how I wished we could change to the clean undamaged default suit after completing the main campaign like in Arkham Knight. Arkham City’s suit in is one of the best Batman suits ever in my opinion.
