The Weakest Home | Domestic Violence | Spoken Word

One of the biggest issues facing families today is domestic violence. Whether it be against the wife, husband or children - we can all play a part in bringing an end to this. The family is the backbone of the society and if we want to keep it firm, we must learn to love, respect and protect one another.

Allah (God) teaches us in the Quran that "The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.(29:41). If we look further into this example we will notice that the spiders home is not weak merely because of the web but also due to the habitual structure of many different types of spider families, which are filled with murder and abuse. A feeble home is indeed one which is filled with much violence. Such are the intriguing parables God sets forth in the Quran to teach those who ponder.

My mother is English. She used to go to a pub where the owners were husband and wife.
I remember as a kid the wife held me and would play with me. Many people knew he was beating her but did nothing. One day her husband was drunk, he was angry and he beat her to a pulp until eventually he pushed her down the stairs killing her.

No one batted an eye.
And yet people say alcohol isn't a problem.

I witnessed a chinese couple fight today n the husband was beating her up in front of people while she screamed in chinese. I couldn't understand what she was saying.. she could be swearing, or expressing her feelings or arguing.. I don't know..because I'm a malay muslim, but I felt so helpless. I couldn't sleep all night. Then I watched this video for th 2nd time.. it's like Allah giving me a little hidayah to visit ur page at 5am to keep my path straight. You know when I was reading the Quran I always saw this sentence about the spiders home and I wandered what the meaning was behind this.
I knew the web itself is weak ..but thanks to this video I now understand it better....I'm sure now whenever I read this sentence in the Quran I'll think of this !
