BMW Phone Pairing

How to pair a device to a BMW with NBT iDrive. Demo car is a 2015 BMW 428i. Android phones will be very similar in setup although menus aren't identical.

NOTE: With Android phones you may have to press some type of "SCAN" button once in the Bluetooth menu to begin searching for the BMW. Also note with Android, you will get a pop-up once the phone is paired requesting permission to access the call history/contacts (and possibly 'messages' depending on how the car is equipped). Depending on your phone/software version you can check the "Do not ask again" check box in the pop-up to avoid that pop-up constantly coming up. Some versions may have a pop-up that just has "Allow" "Do Not Allow" options to choose from. Make sure to press "Allow" or you will restrict Bluetooth functionality.

I cannot find " TELELPHONE " category on my idrive menu. I own 520d f10 2011 version. How can I bluetooth connect my android phone to my bmw idrive ? please help. I repeat once again. I do not have telephone menu popping up on the top MENU while everything else does show up such as CD/Multimedia, RADIO, NAVIGATION and etc.

Hi, I've done exactly what you'd said above but my car is telling me I need to add the I'd code & a round wheel with numbers comes up, I added the numbers after the letters it showed up on my iPhone but this wasn't it, do you have any idea as to what this could be or how I'd find this out ?

What do you do if the audio doesn’t show up with a box next to it? On mine it just says telephone and OK that’s it! :( I have 328i and using iPhone X

I paired my wife's phone under her profile, then I made another profile and paired my phone. But all the contacts are mixed together no matter what profile? Is this normal? I would of thought the profiles would separate the contacts?

This is the really unfortunate thing about BMW. The Prof Media will only connect the latest phones, which is terrible.

It asks for a PASSCODE on my new 435d. Nowhere anywhere am I aware of where this mystical passcode is in order for me to try and connect my phone.

All other vehicle brands I have owned in the past have not had a problem in connecting my Nokia 6310i, which is a proper business phone. But as soon as I try to connect it to BMW 435d, it is not having it and no one knows how the F to connect it, because it is asking for this passcode that is nowhere to be seen.

1/10 for BMW bluetooth. The worst in the industry as far as I am concerned and a massive let down on the entire brand if you can only connect the latest phones.

Might want to sort that out BMW, because Jaguar, Landrover, Audi all the other brands will connect any phone to bluetooth. Not all of us want the latest phone. Some of us are proper business people that use the older style button Nokias because they are as good as a business cellphone can get.

So all this yabbering on your video is common sense how to connect a smartphone, I know that, most know that it is not exactly difficult. So how do you find the passcode then that this wretched Prof Media system demands before it even considers connecting my phone?.

I had a 64 Plate 335d M-Sport, that connected to my phone, so why does my 66 plate 435d unable too?. Both basically the same car, both have Prof Media, but the 4 will not connect it.

Aggravating, friggin A you bet it is aggravating.

Why have BMW made their pairing system almost unusable for any phones, other than Iphone and the latest Smartphones then?. Naughty.

Like I say a lousy 1/10 for BMW connectivity, BMWs biggest and one of few massive let downs that the entire brand has.
