Watched the entire session with great pleasure and admiration and drew everything myself during the session.
It's good that you didn't use extensions, but only use the possibilities that are present in Sketchup itself. Therefore, this session is also very suitable for people who use the WEB (Go) version.
Very educational and fun to do! Thank you very much Aaron.

Hi, I am Jude from Nigeria I really appreciate what you are doing. Because of your videos, my modeling skills have greatly improved.

SO glad that you mentioned "OPTION/CMD" when erasing edges, later on! I was so confused as to why they weren't erasing without erasing the faces on my model. I completely agree! I've been a 3D model artist for 19 years but I'm never done learning. Heck I'll often make tutorials, for beginners, on how to make certain things in Blender - just to warm up! I do it because I know I enjoy making things, I've never made it before and it teaches others!

Actually you didn’t model the fillets on the inside edges on 971. Not done yet! If this is machined on CNC you gotta have them.

Aaron, when you want to fillet an arc between two arcs or one arc and a straight line; simply offset the curves or lines that you want, to the desired radius, first. Then you will see the intersections of the offset lines, which will give you the centers of the fillet arcs.

05:05 LOL, *"Less yacking and more clicking and clacking"* is what I used to tell the gang I was working with. We weren't modeling in SU or any similar software but we were working in SAP.

But seriously, on the first example (971) you did not radius the inside corners. All of the inside intersecting faces get a 1mm radius. How is that done with native tools when you have three faces intersecting at a corner. I tried FredoCorner and it had problems with creating this detail. If this were a real part that radius in the corner would remove a stress point and probably makes for easier machining if CNC'd or casting.

Sorry, but again, if this is machined with CNC perfectish isn’t quite good enough. Hopefully there is an extension for drawing ‘tangent to’ command.

I know this is an old video, but that issue with the arc tool not working just happened to me the other day... it wouldn't draw arcs at all.. later I zoomed out and it had been drawing them way out in space. It was weird

Glad to see it's not just me pulling my hair out with drawing arcs sometimes. The same problem has happened to me and I have never figured out why. It's been a year since this video was posted to YT, has SU found the cause for this and fixed it? I don't think so because I still have this problem today (July 2022) occasionally.

Muy bien profesor no soy ingiñero ni arquitecto, pero en tiempo libre me gusta dibujar en SketchUp.

Aaron, the piece you did at 1:07:00, the outside edge had a bit of a radius on it. How would you have put that in? (You left the outside perpendicular to the face. It had a gentle curve to it based onthe 2D image you pulled in.)

Would that be a follow me task?

Aaron...não tem ninguém do time sketchup pra ensinar a gente sobre plugins?

Great to watch this. Seeing how you worked out the steps etc. What is the device on the left side of the laptop? Sorry, but I am a complete newbie! Hahahah I actually thought you both together in the same room. Thanks heaps guys!

I just purchased MOI 3d..I am an absolute beginner when it comes to CAD/CAM.I was not aware of Sketchup...Is Sketchup easier than MOI and did I make a mistake with my purchase?

Did you mean to simplify 971? The ring protruding from the back hole is tapered and the walls have a round fillet at the bottom. I was interested to see how you were going to address those.

What about rendering the machine parts?

At 20 minutes in you copied the arc before push/pull. When i do that the geometry sticks. I click CTRL move to copy it but it just drags all these faces around. what am i doing wrong?
