I completely understand your point about human interaction in Dubai and that’s one of the first thing I’ve noticed when I moved here. I used to live in France, and in Europe, employees are seen as human beings, no segregation, no one looks down on anyone. Meanwhile in Dubai, there’s a bit of a “hierarchy” and some employees are just seen as robots, and therefore are not used to human interaction. That’s one of the things I miss the most about Europe, can’t wait to go back 😢

I rather agree with you on cleaning. It was incumbent upon me to create a tolerable environment in my room. During my boarding school years or my first year on campus at college, I bribed our cleaning staff in halls to hoover and polish my floor and take my clothes to a dry cleaner: for some reason, I was ashamed to do such chores on my own. I am very grateful to them. Once I left university, I do not feel an odd one out for hiring people to help me out.
