So glad they've dropped the charges and shown some sanity. The arrest should not have happened, and she should not have been injured or charged! THAT was criminal!

As a non US observer for many many years, this young legislator is a credit to herself, her community and your country. You need people like her - you do not need those who seek to disenfranchise anybody from voting based on factors that are obviously racist in their motivation. Shame on them! Wake up USA and work for the enfranchisement of all with a Country-first centre of gravity. Naive I may be - but my gosh we have to put our faith in people like this young ambassador for a future worth living in.

This woman should have never been treated the way she had. Why did those officers immediately jump to arrest her? I never realized that knocking on a door while black was a crime!

How old is the representative? She looks like she is 12 years old. She is blessed to look so young. For her to be blessed, the governor is messing with the wrong person, she has great backing.

The charges had to be dropped because it is only an unwritten law that she was guilty of being black. When it comes to Judge and Jury there was no case to answer.

Honestly, dropping the charges is not good enough, and not enough reason to get ecstatic. You can't just trample on someone's rights, haul them away, hit them with trumped-up charges, threaten them with felony convictions and then make everythig OK by saying "oh, we weren't serious." There should be real consequences for anyone who ordered the arrest, laid hands on her, swore out those ridiculous charges, and yes the Judge who signed the warrant also.
