Things to do on a day trip to Uppsala, Sweden

TAKE A DAY TRIP TO UPPSALA 🌸🌷✨

Uppsala is one of the most famous university towns in Sweden and known for its natural and historic beauty as well as being the fourth largest city in Sweden. You can easily get here by train from Stockholm in only 40 minutes, and it is a nice little mini getaway too. Make sure to save this for your future Uppsala day trip!

THINGS TO DO IN UPPSALA:
- The Uppsala Cathedral, this is the tallest church in the Nordics. It was built in 1272 in French Gothic style, has a rich history and is open to visitors during most days. Both the exterior and the interior is very impressive, so make sure to take your time to explore it.
- Fyrisån – This river runs through the city center of Uppsala and it is a beautiful location for a walk along the water or a Swedish fika with a beautiful view🌊
- Take a stroll around the shops in the central parts of the city. Uppsala is a very charming city with plenty of shops, cafés, restaurants and sights. You can easily spend a day here and just enjoy the atmosphere.🍃
- Have a picnic at Stadsträdgården. This park is right in the city, alongside the water so it is perfect for a cozy picnic in the summer weather. There are plenty of tables and benches available if you don’t want to sit on the grass. 🌾
- Have a fika right next to the river at the historic Guntherska Hovkonditori & Schweizeri. They have everything from cakes, pastries, Swedish buns and sourdough bread as well as freshly made Italian pizza’s. I really enjoyed their iced latte’s and sugared butter buns here. 🍰
