Tam Lin of Carterhaugh - Celtic Music

I notice there is now a wikipedia page all about the story of TamLin and young Janet, who unexpectably falls pregnant :) I wonder how that happened? It makes for interesting reading never the less, as this seems to be an all pervading theme running through many folk songs about young women losing their modesty.

I love that tune whether it be Tam Lin or the Glasgow Reel.

Beautiful performance of a tune straight from the heart of the Celtic people.

I really feel like this interpretation cuts into the essence of the Tam Lin story. It's a bit melancholy And very romantic and it has this wonderful bite to it.

The very end, 2:50 ...seems like you’re doing what my fiddle teacher referred to as hooking the E&F...It just gives it a wonderful sound.

Never heard it this slow or melancholy, it's cool, maybe a preference of style for it not sure yet I'll have to give it a few more listens, but it's very good

Very smooth, lovely. Is Tam Lin the reel you adapted in rhe recent piece titled " Is this a reel or a jig" ? I thought it also borrowed a few starter notes from a polka- the Kerry/ Egan's.

Hi, I can hear you on the last go around of the A part “hooking “ some notes but I can’t figure out what you’re doing.
