Mario Maker: AverMedia GC550 + VirtualDub test

I realized I don't have to use manufacturers bloatware. Well, I got slightly better quality overall and that stuttering is completely gone. However I still have problems with audio, where it's bit dissorted and out of sync, somewhat fixable in post but really annoying.

Can you tell me what compression codec and video settings you're using to capture the AVI through VirtualDub? I'm having problems with the captured video being unplayable with lots of dropped frames and audio out of sync.
