DCP Crime Branch Datta Nalawade briefed the media about the murder of Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12. Addressing the Press Conference, he said that an offence has been registered and the investigation has been handed over to the Crime Branch, which is also probing the role of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the case.
He stated, "Yesterday, between 9 and 9:30 pm, ex-state minister Baba Siddique was shot outside his son's office, under Nirmal Nagar police station. An offence has been registered and the investigation has been handed over to the Crime Branch. Two accused were detained at the scene... Two pistols and 28 rounds have been recovered... We have the custody of the accused until October 21. We are investigating the Lawrence Bishnoi gang's involvement in the case... Baba Siddique did not have categorized security, but three security personnel were assigned to him..."
