Welcome to The Church at Stone River's Word + Table worship gathering. Our current sermon series is "Sing the Song." We invite you to consider today's text of Psalm 90:1-12 with us.

The seasons are changing and so has our sermon series. So much has happened in our world recently, and most of what's happened has been heavy. In Decatur, in the United States, Israel, Gaza, and all around the world. As a Church we felt the need to take a moment, name this season we are all in, and talk about ways to process the heaviness that we are all feeling. In this series we are looking at the Biblical tradition of lament. We will be praying for our community and our world and asking the question, "what does it mean to be a follower of Jesus in this season." The core of the series is Revelation 7 in which we hear of a song that is being sung in the heavens. We will then compare this to the Israelites who, while experiencing the Babylonian conquest and exile, lamented, "we can't sing the songs of Zion any longer." We seem to be caught between the times, in a tension between the joyous song of the heavens and the lament in this moment. So we are going ask the question, can we sing the song? We hope that this is a meaningful series for you during this time.
