I tied one of these a few days ago with scraps I had left over from other patterns. Mine consisted of a size 12 or 14 hook (I cant remember) light orange yarn tag, peacock body, soft hackle feather from pheasant skin, and a brass 3/32 beadhead. Sunday I went to a local pond that is usually clear but was the color of chocolate milk and freezing cold, but I caught 3 hug bluegill and one smaller bluegill, sadly I had to donate it to the last fish as I left my forceps at home.... on a side note the flat head screwdriver blade on a swiss army knife works wonders at removing hooks and not hurting the fish, so I'm

Ty for all your videos!. Been trying to tie this for about a week. Do fine until I try to tie in the hen feather. Keep breaking it off when I wrap it. Any suggestions for me? Thanks

Great Video!!!!
Could you recommend a dry fly and a nymph for beginners, one that is not to hard to tie? Thank you very much!

Why is it every time I want to tie one of your flies, I don't have one of the materials. "Antron Thread" now I have to order something else. Great tutorial once again...

Using Antron stops the twisting of you’re tippet whereas using the traditional red wool was a pain and you always had to cut the tag down whilst on the water. But getting the perfect proportions using the wool is tedious to say the least.

Is it possible to use whiting farms American hackle for dry flies even though that isn't the intended use?

Hi Tim. Tim here...new subscriber.
Great video!

I’m new to fly fishing and fish mostly inshore in salt water.

I know you’re way beyond this, but can you recommend a good beginner fly tying kit and also a good place to get fly tying materials?
