In Austria you can buy Croissants and other pastries/baked goods dipped in the same fluid as pretzels (Lauge in German forgot the name in English) basically everywhere. I have never thought about how this is not standard everywhere 😅

Thats something you can get in Germany and they are delicious, especially with a chocolate spread (if your into salty/sweet combos) but usually we fill them with cheese and ham (or other cold cuts) and maybe some lettuce, tomato and cucumber. They make amazing sandwiches or are great with just some butter. We would call them "Laugencrossaint" tho, whcih translates to lye crossaint. We call everything, that does not have a Brezen (pretzel) shape, lye-something. Like Laugensemmel/Laugenbrötchen (Lye Roll) or Laugenstange, which is quite popular. (a thick, fluffy lye bread stick, closer to a baguette but shorter). You can get most of the lye stuff in the bakery gratinated with cheese too. Its a popular snack for kids at recess and generally if you need something small on the go 😊

Those are a thing in Germany, we for some reason love to pretzel-fy baked goods and pretzel croissants are actually something you can commonly find in the baked goods section of grocery stores

German laugenecke are kinda like a pretzel croissant, I would try a recipe for that. Literally one of the best things in german bakeries 😋

A bakery near me sells something really similar, they sell them as little triangles, not rolled as croissants, but it's laminated dough put into lye and then bakes into flaky goodness

I fogot what American fotball is actually like and for a moment the sentence " last time I tried fotball I dislocated my elbow" sounded a lot more funnier.

I don’t care for sports either unless I’m at an actual game, it’s something about seeing live that’s captivating even though I don’t understand the rules. I think it’s the crowd and the energy but other wise I like cartoons!
