Everyone hating probably never got past the highway speed limits on a bike

I know that at least an 08 gsxr 1k peak power is at 12.5 k. To get the best acceleration times you actually need to shift at different points depending on each gear. Usually in the first two gears it is close to redline. In 3 and 4 its usually 500 to 1k below redline in 5th its 1k to 1.5k. The reason why you need to pass peak hp and go into the drop off is because if you shift only at peak hp you will be out of the powerband in the following gear. Shifting closer to redline drops you in the meat of the powerband. Its easier to spool up from 12.5k to 13.5k then 6k to 8k. If you dont believe me look up a sport rider article about when to shift. Until then stay off the track.

People will never understand why we do things like this, there is nothing compared to it not even a car going the same speed, I have done 185 on my bike and loved every second of that experience.

Nobody's hating, but having topped out my R1 there letting him know ride the gears out ! Your not gonna hurt it, hit 12, 500 each gear, 1st will be coming off the ground and set down in 2nd and launch in 3rd!!!! 4th will really get you up to 160 or so and from there it's all over till you hot 185-187 stock bike . So nobody's hating there just saying cause they know it's a lot more capable than he is pushing it . Ride safe !

Apparently there is no wild life to saunter out in front of you at night. I was almost taken off my bike by a damned owl one night. I can't even imagine going that fast at night when I can't see diddly squat. Good luck, you're going to need all you can get.

Riding at night, with a black bike, dressed in mostly black gear and riding that fast sounds like a setup for instant death. That was intense to watch

Toping out at night (car or bike) on a dark road is just crazy. I did it once myself on a sportbike when I was very young, but no way would I ever go that fast again without good visibilty ahead to avoid something in the road or something coming onto the road. Ride safe!

For those insisting the bike can push more than 186, it cannot without aftermarket upgrades and the speedo stops reading after 186. Cool video, although a bit reckless considering there's no way you can see any situational game changers. As someone has already stated, good luck you really will need it.

Maxing out the RPM's between gears only slows you down as your peak HP and torque usually crest before the redline. Just look at a dyno graph and you'll see that at redline things are already dropping off so it's not a good idea to max the RPM'S between shifts.
