They do not know what created the holes and have put the question to other experts.

Mufon and long-time UFO believers have known this. In many locations in and outside of the USA, reports as old as old as post-WWII have UAPs going into bodies of water, including very deep lakes. These reports were considered "crazy" and not published by mainstream media. Today, even Ivy League universities have set up groups of scientists to study UAPs, most in part due to Pentagon declassifying more material two years and being forced to testify before US Congress. The first country to reverse-engineer the technology from these UAPs will have a massive military and economic advantage over others.

As a person with insider information who has questioned Navy personnel... There ARE extraterrestrials under the oceans. I know because of these interviews that WE even have places underground on the coasts where we work with them. Think AUTEC. We have saucer shaped bays under the water with access from the oceans to have them dock with us. Some of the installations even have their technology incorporated into them in certain sections.

Regarding the holes in the sea floor. It seems obvious to me that those holes are kept clear by something because new sand is mounded up slightly around each hole as if blown out a mouthful of sand, like many do when removing sand from a burrow. But there may be some kind of built structure under the sand that need to vent a gas of some kind on a regular bases. They are very irregular though, as if what ever made them has no specific requirement to design a regular structure with them.

Yeah, I remember hearing about the ocean floor holes. First thing that comes to mind is clams, since they can leave similar holes (‘keyholes’ that usually mean a clam is underneath). Do clams live at this depth? I haven't seen shallow-water coastal clams leave trails like this. Anyway, I’m assuming they’ve long ago already ruled that out.

Speaking of truly far out, if you haven’t seen the gorgeous nesting grounds puffer fish create to attract mates, look them up. If you didn’t know what had made them, it would be easy to think they’re artificial, they’re so beautifully and perfectly made. 🐡🌀

I don’t think they’re ETs but an earlier advance civilization developed on earth. Some catastrophic event happened on the surface that forced them to live under ground and oceans.

I’m curious to find out what MBARI (Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute) has seen underwater. They have been able to go much deeper into the trenches of the pacific ocean with their latest robotic vehicles and cameras. They’re not too far from the Santa Cruz islands where many people have encountered UFO’s/USO’s coming out of the ocean.

Extraterrestrials...? Who says they're from another planet? Perhaps a previous Earth civilization has settled at the bottom of the oceans, where they are safe from radiation, storms, fires, asteroids, etc. and where they can have easier access to certain resources.
