The man who made lyrics and composed this song was then about 18. Talented guy.

I am finnish and i was always more obsessed with music from other countries, but now i've found the beauty in finnish music. I love the melodies and lyrics of our music

I think it was Finnish. Finland has made a lot of very good music. Usually slightly melancholic. I am from Sweden, and as a kid, before I learnt English, this is how I appreciated British and American music. The meaning of the text is not disturbing - you can focus entirely on the music!

A writer of this song, Jussi, was 16 years old when he wrote this, and if I recall right, this song was about his aunt or to her. Sadly Jussi passed away, year ago.

This song is deep and most of the times it brings tears to my eyes. Writer of this son died last yer and I grew up with this band back in -80's. Shit, most, if not all Finns know this song and I believe many of them think its the best song of that time. Deeply touching. RIP Jussi Hakulinen.

As a Finn, this a must song to know. I learned to sing it back in high school choir. Love it always. So happy you decided to react to this masterpiece as is not well known.

Thank you for the reaction! This is one of my favourite songs, it is very deep and beautiful, and causes heartache every time I hear it.

For years I've always wondered, would I like the song as much if I didn't understand the lyrics. I wondered whether the music was powerful enough on it's own, because it has very powerful lyrics as well. This is the first reaction on this song I've seen in like ten years! As a musician I've been trying to prove to myself (for years now) the universality of music. That you can transfer emotions through music, no matter where in the world the music is heard.

You should check out the lyrics as well. Then listen to the song again, you'll get a completely new experience. It's called a 'Swan song' - for a reason - there is a legend that a swan song is a hauntingly beautiful song that the bird sings right before its death.

Like @Pete K mentioned earlier, the song writer is a talented guy. He really nailed both the music and the lyrics. Aand how well they sit together. How you found this finnish song is beyond me, but I'm glad you did.

Sorry for a long comment, thanks again for the reaction.

This song tells a lot about the longing of being young, when you experienced love and life for the first time and also when your children have flown from the nest and apparently the partner of the main char of this song is either left or dead and so there is only memories left. Memories and pain of realising you will get older and eventually die alone

The metatext in this is song...well in Finland we have long winters and short summers so that makes us often rather gloomy and melancholic like this and many other finnish songs are...

This song is a sad song about the songwriters aunt and his dead husband. The songwriter Jussi Hakulinen was just 20 years old when writing this.
