⛵️ Roughly 0.5% of the world's plastic waste ends up in the ocean each year, which is estimated to be between 1 and 2 million tonnes. However, the exact amount of plastic that enters the ocean is uncertain, as early studies estimated that it could be as much as 8 million tonnes per year.
