Isafjordur, Iceland in the Rain: Self Exploration on Foot from Oceania Cruise Ship

Isafjordur, Iceland is a charming village that is an easy walk from the cruise ship port. After a planned boat excursion was canceled, I battled poor weather in order to see the town. I'm happy I did, as it sits in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains. The Isafjordur Culture Center was definitely worth the walk and seemed to be a hub of the community's activities.

For senior and solo travelers: It was an easy walk to the town on flat surfaces. I would suggest venturing out beyond the town to other sights to enhance your visit. Iceland has beautiful landscape, so the more you can see, the better.

As the boat excursion was cancelled I wondered how your ship coped with the seas, was it uncomfortable? Thanks
