Did anyone else almost have a heart attack when that drill bit went flying through towards the condenser*?

I rebuild 4l80e professionally. I've been in 17 Monster Transmissions. They are junk. Please don't make the purchase of a Monster Transmission without calling the BBB and hear there customer reviews.

Monster transmission is shit! since ive been a trans builder for 40 years, i think i would know. also not so sure why youre going with a 4speed, rather than, building the six speed? the 6 speed keeps your ratios closer. keeping you in your power band. dont let fear rule your build.

Love how they skimmed over setting the pinion depth. This process can take all day to get it right even if you have the proper measurement tools.

Monster trans: all marketing and paint. Call them 5 times it's a sketch show. Price will be wildly different each time. Just doing rattlecan rebuilds.

I am impressed with the technology available to you guys... Exhaust proof hose to protect your tranny lines? AWESOME.
In the 1980s, we never dreamed of that kinda stuff.

You could have put in a built 6L80 for the money, as well. I like the 6-speed for the gearing, especially 1st gear, for off-road. When the 4-speed auto was fairly new it needed time and public R&D, also. You're pushing that segment, I get it. But, the 6-speed offers more performance/economy for the vehicles that have its computer. And a direct replacement.

"We are going to address some Chevy weakpoints, so we decided to replace the transmission, driveshaft, and rear end!"
LOL!

Love my 6L80, if I were to build a 500+ HP motor, I would go 6L90 and not a 4-speed. While the 4L80 is more durable, the gearing cannot compete. LTs math was a little off too, the 6L80 with 3.42s is a 13.77:1 1st gear ratio. 1st in a 6L80 is 4.03 or 4.027. Still enjoy the show and watching those youngsters do the work I did when I was there age!

I've always had escalades and they are very reliable hold their value and get 300k out of them. THATS WHY THEY ARE HUGE IN THE LIVERY INDUSTRY

😁 I work at a transmission shop I have pulled so many 60s and 80s smh I just pulled one yesterday I've done so many of them I actually timed myself, 40 minutes to get a 4L80 out 👏 for me lol but my boss don't get that kind of speed everyday so its about an hour in a half pull. Don't get me wrong I like GM I'm a GM guy I'm a psycho working on them, I hate electrical problems... but we work on anything and everything me and the guy I work with we both Hammer jobs out the door!! Awesome conversion kit keep up with the vids👍👍

I like how they neglect to mention what the cost of these builds comes out to. They spend more money on these builds that the average guy makes in a year.

6l80e is good with proper tuning. people have issues cause they disable tq management and don't tune it right

My built 6l90 is good for 1500 horse power. With a FTI converter. The key is engine and trans tune must work together

I do like the 60L..they use the gear shaft with a 1:5 ratio which puts perfect pressure on the gear locks. The 2:5 bell bearings do a great job too

what a waste of time this "swap" is. its like putting a carburetor on an ls motor. and that cross member he hacked up is the biggest butcher job ive seen on a show.

I’m all for a 80e swap where needed but that 6l80e is a much better trans.
