advantages of the packet packet switching is that it can handle bursty requests since messages are divided into chunks the packets could take different routes and network is available for all the devices

Pros of circuit switching: More suitable for telephone calling and making videos calls as it does not suffer from queuing delays.
Cons of circuit switching: Complex and harder to implement than packet switching.

Pros of packet switching: Offeres better sharing of transmission capacity.

The availability of a dedicated physical link can be faster as now the devices don't have to look for an effiecient path each time data is to be sent to the other device. Moreover it will be more secure as an efficient path on the internet might be compromised(I am not sure of the second advantage plz correct me if I am wrong)

So with package switched phones the voice gets transported over many different pathways while at the same time one line can be used for many calls simultanously?

I understand that if we split a message into packets, we can utilize multiple routers that otherwise might just have been idle, and thus the message is sent faster overall. But if we're talking about a network the size of a city or bigger, then wouldn't all routers be busy all the time anyway? If so, wouldn't deconstructing a message into packets and then constructing it back at the destination point be just a waste of time and resources?
