FYI to save time on this achievement, load the level from checkpoint Bravo, that's right before the first monkey in the distant tree.

if the achievement doesn't pop after a while try reloading the level in a different playlist or on another difficulty. I had trouble with mine and after switching from the Master Chief Saga Playlist to the regular Halo 3 campaign it worked. All achievements popped up with a few seconds of looking at the cavemen.

Yeah so i stared at the first primate for a good 5 minutes, decided to move on, then stared at the family of primates for another 5 minutes. Nothing. I decided to grab the sniper from the pelican wreck and back track a bit to the first one and bam. As I'm staring at the first primate through the sniper, it pops. No, not the missing link achievement, the primates achievement popped. the one you're supposed to get for the second location of them. This game is so weird

Achievement 1: Takes a while, does work now. Other comments refer to the buggy launch of MCC.
Achievement 2: Ueful to make crouch a Toggle, not a Hold.
Achievement 3: Yes, the BR does work, and quickly.

thanks!  FYI you don't need a sniper for the 3rd.  I did it with a carbine that was laying around.

I know this is old but if you have trouble getting the first one grab the sniper rifle and back track then look at it or shoot it

on last one if having trouble, before you walk on the walkway look right and there's a ladder in the building you walk through, climb that and you'll get a clear view

As of May 2019, I did this on easy regular campaign, just follow his guide exactly and it should pop, if not, just restart from last checkpoint and try again, it takes a minute for each pop
