Ahh yes, vintage Soundcraft consoles... I remember using one live back in 1991, it had crosstalk between channels for days but you could drive it to a musical sounding distortion before it all got out of hand!!

I have the boutiques, The TR-09, TR-08, TB-03, SH-01A (And a few more to come) While these are nice and have been given much props by many who have the Real Machines and the boutiques, In my nothing like the real thing".
I think I'll get off my butt this winter and work some OT, and get a machine or two. And to be honest it would just be mostly a "nostalgia" thing. I don't know if I would keep them set up in the studio verses the boutiques, (IDK). But one thing that frightens me about obtaining some of the analog gear is, Lord forbid something happens, Where would you take it to get fixed. Guess I'll have to take my chances.

Wow, you also own a big mixing console? Is that a SSL? It looks pretty much like it! Recognized the colour coded knobs and the press buttons! :) And the reverb is a Lexicon 480L probably?? :D Nice song!!

I'm not usually hung up on analog vs. digital and all that stuff, but I do think the original boxes (303, 808, 909, etc.) have a certain kind of magic. They're simple, they do one thing, and they do that thing well. All the modern reincarnations are just computers with a tactile human interface, trying to one-up the capabilities of the originals, and entirely missing the point in the process.

There are plenty of nice samplers to choose from already. What the world needs is a reissue of some of the classics, with very little "improvement". I'll take MIDI, and even digitally controlled analog pots. But I don't want samples of a kick drum, I want bridged-Ts and noise generators. A 16-step sequencer is fine, I don't need support for SMFs on SD cards. To bring it down to reasonable cost, I would be willing to forfeit the individual analog outs in exchange for an ADAT digital out that I can choose to send to an 8-channel DAC if I want. If I want endless variations, I'll pull out an MPC. When I want an 808, I would like to have a plain old 808 -- for less than the price of a used economy car.

The mixing is not great, but for a jam it's really good.
