Guys guys guys!! Olympus just made a second announcement a mere 4 hours AFTER this OM-D Webcam launch. The lens roadmap is updated with 8-25mm F4 PRO revelation and new 100mm Macro PRO addition. 150-400mm F4.5 PRO will be released in winter and E-M1X will get "BIRD" intelligent subject tracking mode! So, so excited for Olympus and their coming developments. I need to catch my breath after this webcam video, but rest assured, I have a lot to talk about and I can't wait to do that soon. The next video will be released in a few days discussing this second announcement!

I just downloaded and tried this. Works like a charm. Super easy to install and set up. Picture is 1000% better than the native cam on my laptop. Thanks for the tutorial Robin. In the last 2 days, I've bought a new Oly lens from my local camera shop and today have downloaded their new software. I hope others can follow ... even if you don't think that you'll tether your camera in the near future for video calls, I'd suggest that you still download it. Give the bean counters some stats to demonstrate the commitment of the community to the brand. For me, this feels much better than naysaying. Coffee on its way to you good sir! Thanks Robin

Just checked my DM-670 audio recorder, works fine as dedicated microphone, no need to update to the new model, same settings as for the LS-P4.

I have Mac and Linux, but no problem: Since it wasn’t possible to buy any webcam in the last couple of months, I got a cheap, Chinese FHD capture adapter, which captures the signal from hdmi and converts it to usb, acting as a webcam for any operating system. It even supports sound. (Works fine with my Pen-F and E-M1, but not with the older E-M5 or the Lumix GX800.)

This is working great on my original EM1, I haven't been using my camera much anymore, so this was a good excuse to dig it out. I had to buy a dummy battery pack though, got the one from B&H although the EM1 (original) wasn't listed as compatible. Only issue is that it only works for some video conferencing software (could not get it to work for google, but works for zoom and teams). I also have not found a way to test the camera before going into one of these apps. The Microsoft camera app does not seem to detect it right. Also the camera does not auto focus, so it's hard to focus on myself because I have to lean forward to adjust the lens, but then I'm focusing on something closer. Instead I try to focus on my chair's headrest to make it work close enough, but like I said I already need to be in a meeting when making the adjustment so people get to see my trying to focus my camera on myself, it's a bit frustrating from various standpoints. Image quality is much better than my built in webcam, and I haven't had any issue with the camera overheating or freezing once I got the dummy battery pack.

good update. i think the 720 P limitation is due to the USB 2.0 bandwidth of the older camera such as the em1 & em5mkii. i think the em1 mkii and mkiii that use the usb 3.0 bandwidth should handle at least 1080p.

The clarity is amazing, the moment Robin switched from a real webcam to the OMD EM1 ii, I was surprised at how superior the picture quality is, particularly overcoming the strenuous light that made the webcam video look washed out
