This video helped to understand on how to create a proper moodboard.
First of all any product should have a design brief. It should be able to tell us exactly what we are thinking about and how we want to go about that particular product.
There should be a purpose for each design and everything starts with a why.
Start making a mind map where you write down whatever words that come to your mind when you think of the product you are going to create.
Try to keep track of what's going on in the fashion industry. Sites like wgsn, vogue, sourcing journal. Try to get VIEW journals to get insights on textiles and others.
Images in your moodboards need to be precise. They can be self shot or taken by any latest photographers. (Pinterest can be used for inspiration boards).
Some of the Fashion moodboard aspects to be considered are:
Lifestyle (corporate, casual, luxury, sport, evening parties)
Emotions (nature, architecture, artworks)
Gender (male, female, non binary, kids)
Category (women's dresses, men's shirt, lingerie, sports wear, kids clothing)
Color palette (color combos for fabrics, from artworks, photoshoot backdrops)
Text (crisp writeup / keywords)

It's funny how we instinctively dodge or avoid confusion in general, instead of accepting it because we think that being confused is something wrong. The opening line of the video was a relieving one!
This video made me understand the purpose of a moodboard in the best ways possible.

As students, I believe that we've tried multiple methods of design process. But somewhere or the other we lack the basic sense of our collection, and we end up improvising and settling for something that was never on our mind.
But I think this video has made the chaos in my head slightly calm. Definitely going to apply these points the next time I am to construct a mood board!

Thank you for this video sir, the video is so well organised and visually presented that it helped me understand the process better. Also the book and magazine suggestion you gave will be really helpful.
Some of my understanding - Mood board is to express what we feel, let it be colour, shape, structure, material etc we show what we feel visually.
Mood boards is very important before any project starts.
Mood board holds the complete aesthetics together.
Importance of brief.
Knowing "why" we need to do this project before starting it.
Mind mapping - writing down what ever comes to mind about your project, design approach, material, lifestyle, and texture, graphics, forms, age, colour theme, etc. (gives better clarity and path to the project)
Reffer - WGSN, Vogue, sourcing journal.
Choosing the images for mood board.
Components of a mood board
Lifestyle, emotions expressed through images, gender, category I want to work with, colour palette, text content (it should be crisp, and states my understanding of brief).

I feel that mood board is the starting as well as the end point while making a collection. “Starting” since it lays out a road map based on the design brief which we would need to follow and “end” point since the collection we have designed need to reflect all the aspects we have put together in our moodboard. Also, I believe this is an anchor which holds different teams who work together on a design project. Coming to the video, I think it was structured well and explained in a manner that is easily understood. I really liked the book and magazine suggestion and would surely like to give them a read.

Hello Sir,
It's really a very inspiring video with great knowledge, as a Fashion Design student, I would like to say that in my initial years I had a lot of confusion about all the boards which we had to make. It was very complicated but somehow managed to do it in my way. This video had inspired me a lot and that quote about Intuition, hit my mind and now I am really amazed to acknowledge how beautiful creative work is.
This video made me understand about:-
1] What is a design brief
2] Never be afraid to ask questions, know your consumer very well
3] Be well prepared ( mind mappings, surveys)
4] choose your Inspiration wisely
5] Consider about the Environment, Be Sustainable
6] Know your process very well
7] Spend a good amount of time on planning your project
8] Be Up to date with the industry
9] How to make a Mood-board
10] Reflection of yourself is what is necessary
11] Thinking about all the factors which play a crucial role in defining mood boards.
12] Be crisp and innovative
