Why write a letter when we can print one for World Letter Writing Day (September 1)

September 1st is World Letter Writing Day! World Letter Writing Day encourages people worldwide to pick up a pen or pencil, grab a piece of stationery, and write a letter to someone.

For today, Howard decided to take a different direction for letter writing. Why write something when you can print it? Howard typeset and letterpress printed “Write A Letter” in 6 line Tuscan Egyptian wood type. This font was selected because we are starting to pursue more of the different wood type in our print shop exhibit. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. If you’re looking for someone to send a letter to, how about sending a letter to Howard?
