Ukraine is a sovereign nation and should be seen as such, every country has a right to self determination and a right to defend itself from aggression from hostile external threats. Ukrainians obviously has nerves of steel. All of their volunteers, defending their country, I'm hoping they don't have too, but if they do, bravo.

At the very least, Putin is testing the current administration. The last administration gave aid and comfort to this enemy.

Putin has never got over watching the Berlin Wall come down, the break up of the USSR, watching the crowds enjoying freedom from the steps of the then KGB HQ. He couldn't do anything to stop it. He is a child as much as trump, trying to right something he feels went wrong in his earlier life, tantrums. Trying to recreate the USSR as much as possible helps him sleep at night.

Great interview. Good questions and informative answers.. how often does that combo happen in politics? As a Swede I've been concerned about NordStream for a long time: both it's environmental risks and it's geopolitical ramifications. Germany has rushed to abandon nuclear power at the cost of becoming totally dependent on Russian hydrocarbons. Now we see one of the consequences with German politicians giving lame excuses for Putin's actions.

Why is the US not doing anything about Russia cutting underseas communication cables? See Rachel Maddow's show last night. Seems to me that Putin has already gone past Ukraine and is at Ireland 's doorstep. What Germany needs to decide is "Are they part of Europe or not"?

So is this, like, a SUPER strongly worded letter?

"I have president Putin, he just said it's not Russia. I will say this. I don't see any reason why it would be, " President Trump said, standing at podium side-by-side with the Russian president during a joint press conference Putin in Helsinki, Finland.
