Rheumatic Fever is an immunological disease most probably caused by molecular mimicry to the M protein of Group A beta-hemolytic streptococci (streptococcus pyogenes)…Rheumatic fever can be diagnosed using the Jones Criteria: including major criteria (joint disease— migratory, inflammatory polyarthritis) , heart disease (pancarditis)— Endocarditis, Myocarditis, and Pericarditis, Subcutaneous nodules, erythema marginatum (Bull’s eye rash on the skin), Sydenham chorea (movement disorder) and minor criteria (e.g. fever, high ESR, high CRP,…etc)…Infective endocarditis is characterized by fever + new murmur.
