How to Draw The Sierpinski Triangle: A Fractal Zoom

Learn step by step how to draw The Sierpinski Triangle, a fractal that can repeat itself at any scale of magnification or reduction.

To draw this triangle I start with an equilateral triangle.

Next I draw a dot at the half way point on each side of my triangle.

I then join these dots to make a new upside down triangle in the middle and also three new triangles in each corner.

I repeat this process in each upright triangle I create. I use a fine tipped pen for this drawing, but soon I run out of space for more triangles, so I start to draw more triangles outside the original triangle I started with.

To create the fractal zoom effect in this video I repeat a zoomed video image of my drawing. I think this gives some indication of the mathematical properties of the Sierpinski Triangle.

its physically impossible to draw a fractal, but good editing made it look like it is infinite. :D

Nice tutorial. You may want to provide a link to Vi Hart's videos on the mathematics of the Sierpinski triangle. She does a very good job of explaining it.

I THOUGHT THAT TO DRAW THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT BUT AFTER FOLLOWING THE STEPS THIS BECOME EASY TO DRAW
..
THANKS SIR

This takes FOREVER to draw especially if you have to color it and have the triangle to be equilateral.

I thought this was inspired by The Legend of Zelda.
