I like to imagine that Nintendo never actually planned to make a Switch Pro, but someone started the rumour and it simply wouldn't go away for two years and now they're just like "Well shit, guess we're making a Switch Pro"

I've combated it with knowledge of a global chip shortage that has everyone backed up. Have you seen the old airfield filled with brand new Ford trucks, all completely assembled and just waiting for chips? I doubt any next mainstream electronics will receive anything other than a "soft launch" for quite some time still.

it's funny that everyone keeps forgetting that Nintendo doesn't care about specs. My bet is on it being a similar upgrade from the Wii to Wii u. Don't expect 4k or oled.

This will presumably be Nintendo's equivalent of the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Games will be enhanced on the Switch Pro - higher res, visual enhancements, smoother frame rate etc - but there will be no "Switch Pro" exclusive games. Essentially, all Switch games will run on all Switch systems.

My biggest concern on the switch is the quality of the construction and the durability. The joycons is fragile like a glass compared to past nintendo game pads and the console screen is so easy to scratch. My vita have 9 years and still working and looking great, on other side my sister switch is in a bad shape compared to my vita, and she never takes the switch outside like I do with my Vita.
On the hardware (chip) side it’s ok, but they can at least release a new version with better performance to allow at least 720p 60fps on portable mode.

I mean it's not a Switch Pro, it's a Switch XL. It's a bigger 720p screen and a nominal performance gain with a modest upscaler that's basically the equivalent of what's found in your TV. That's not really a Pro model.

Not looking forward to the pain and suffering that will be required in order to get this new system. I really want a new more powerful Switch, the system really needs it, but this thing is going to be scalped like crazy. It will be so difficult to obtain.
