Taiwan announces plans for record defence budget after China drills

Taiwan has proposed a record US$19 billion in defence spending for next year as tensions simmer with China. That is a nearly 14 per cent year-on-year increase. It includes money for new fighter jets as well as special funds for the defence ministry.

Taiwan needs to beef up its porcupine strategy, also build up some of the Western ports to accommodate Japanese and US ships to offer counter.
Most importantly, is time for Taiwan to ask the US to share a naval base near Taichung to protect the shipping lanes and Taiwan's sovereignty. Enough with the nice talk and ignoring the insecure Chinese war mongers.

It is a necessary move for Taiwan to increase its defence spending drastically.
Taiwan needs to up defence spending to 5% of GDP.

Conscription time needs to be reverted
back to 2 years.

Be very focus on a few areas, A2/AD Capabilities, submarines, long range strike capabilities like cruise missiles.
and finally develop a Nuclear Deterrence Capability.

Once Taiwan has an effective and operational Nuclear arsenal at its disposal, with a mutually assured Destruction strategy, then Taiwan will be
able to deter The Chinese Communist regime from attempting to invade the independent, democratic nation of Taiwan RoC.
