My brother worked at a local Harley dealership for 17 years and owned a Springer since 1998.

He drove many newer bikes because he was constantly moving them and when they’d get used bikes in he’d take them for road test to see how they handled and wrote up what they needed so the mechanics would get them road worthy.

He road tested both street glide and road glide and said to me, if your bar hopping get a softail however if your just crushing highway miles than get the road glide…

He said the street glide is very comparable to a road king with a ferring however the road glide is more planted on the highways.

He liked it so much when his dealership took a 100th anniversary in on trade he immediately bought it…

Street glide was my pick. I love the smooth ride and my hands are covered especially the cold.

I bought my road glide and a guy asked me why I would want a bike that the headlight doesn’t turn when you turn the handlebars. I said your car doesn’t either. He had no reply

Go with the Road Glide if you’re putting long miles in on the freeway or highway. The fixed fairing absorbs the wind sheer, easing your passing of other vehicles. Trust and believe it is a huge difference.

DEFINTLY THE STREET GLIDE FOR ME. I personally do not like the frame mounted fairing, as it messes with my head as to weather my front wheel is straight or not when stopping. The batwing fairing is also better at deflecting the wind off the rider, whereas the shark nose you sit up above the fairing a bit more and the wind can still hit you in the chest. The batwing also is better at protecting the hands from cold wind or debris than the shark nose. BUT, the shark nose is better at cutting THROUGH the wind at high speeds. The batwing fairing DOES impart a VERY TINY amount of movement into the handlebars, but only when going in excess of 80Mph or greater and NOT enough to really bother anyone and is NOT enough of a reason not to buy one. Also, on the street glide its easier to reach the infotainment center, as it sits closer to the rider. Whereas on the road glide you have to actually lean forward JUST A BIT to be able to reach it. Which is something to keep in mind for shorter riders. Other than that, both bikes are practically identical.

I ride a Dyna with a Memphis Shades Road Warrior fairing. I will be upgrading, a couple years from now, and will have to make the SG/RG choice. One factor I consider - Who knows the most about fairing? Sportbike manufacturers! Do they mount em to the forks? Exactly!

Bought a 2002 road glide new when nobody wanted them, road it until 2015 with 140 thou on it then I got hit while stopped, bike was totaled, in 2017 bought a street glide, ya theirs a difference, the road glide is more planted in twistiest with the fairing weight over the front end. Bought the street glide due to a great deal 5000 off, it’s different but. Fine machine one I got rid of those terrible rear shocks & put heavier oil in the forks.

The Road Glide handles the wind better than the Street Glide, but the Street Glide is a icon and has been around for ever.

I went to my dealer looking for a Street Glide, rode away with a Road Glide. The independent steering sold me. Test drive both is my only advice.

Because of this, both bike don't react the same at low speed, different feeling while turning. Not only a style preference. + GPS is upper on the road glide that street preference goes for upper gauges

There both great bikes as long as you throw the rear shocks in the dumpster the minute you get it and throw some Ohlins on it 😂

Longer state to state riding go with the batwing. Will protect you better in rain and weather. Although some say high winds the road glide is better really I can’t tell the difference but when it comes to rain the batwing is better. Closer to you and you can tuck up in the windshield. Road glide handles better because it has less weight on the forks as the batwing is connected to the forks.
