When the “new” Rachel sings to the “old” one “you’re a little late, I’m already torn”, it shatters my heart

In my opinion this is one of the best songs Rachel has ever sung. It just tells so well about her relationship with Finn but also her development during the series. She is not that dreamy little girl anymore but has grown up and experienced quite a rollercoaster. And this scene just underlines it even more. Stay strong, Lea.

i agree w everyone that lea’s performance was stunning, but i also have to mention the mastery of the editing of these scenes. it was so brilliant how they cut back and forth between the rachels. anyone could’ve thought of the idea but the execution was beautiful.

Anyone notice old Rachel and new Rachel had different singing qualities? New Rachel had a more mature and refined tone and old Rachel had a more high pitched and girlier tone. Whats insane is that Lea Michele had to probably record both versions of this around the same time and she was able to change her voice in such a subtle but masterful way. Really goes to show how talented she really is.

I don't understand why people hated this season so much, I for one LOVED it because people come on: the show was from the start about Rachel and her dreams to live in NYC and go to NYADA, wasen't that what we all wanted for her? And after high school you change. Did you expect her to stay the very same all her life? As a human being, we learn, we make mistakes, we grow. She matured her style, as most people do after high school. I mean I love high school Rachel as well, but she stayed the same on the inside but a little bit more mature! I'd rather follow people who grow than remain static and predictable . I love this duet as well btw:).

This was such an amazing cover. Not just because of Lea's vocals, but the concept is great and I loved that this clearly shows the arc of Rachel's character development when it comes to her confidence and how she still questions herself.

I have also always identified myself with Rachel throughout the entirety of Glee, lack of confidence and bullied while taking hold my skills. I just wasnt overbearing like her haha but its a tv show. So, watching this video is like looking at my old self and how I used to be like and dress, I was very corky like she used to be. Its kinda sad and nostalgic, but in the end the change was for the best and Im better now than ever before :)

Love the way she did the guitar solos at the end.

I really like how they shot this number. It means so much to see Rachel progress over the years - tighter clothes, more mature make-up with heavier use of eyeliner and eye shadow, as compared to the young girl, almost in a uniform outfit, with that clean fresh look. Sometimes I wish I could also have a chance to do something like that - to go back in time and see for myself who I was when I was younger and promise never to lose myself, even as I grow.

Lea Michele is the only person who can have a duet with herself and still sounds good.

I'm sorry, the old Rachel can't come to the phone right now
Why?

The way that old Rachel looked at the new one back then, at: "You don't seem to know, seem to care what your heart is for" it was like when the inner you wants to give you some advice to help you remind yourself how to feel pure again. I don't know, it's just what I think.

Mrs.Lea Michele did a great job with this song to the point to were she can sing it as a duet with old Rachel and new Rachel

I love this performance because no Gleek can deny that Rachel has changed and it really showed just how much she has and how much of the old Rachel is left.
