@MaxDorval I know that, and I've looked into it extensively. I was talking about ArenaNet's game developement style. They say that it is a persistent game world, but what they neglect to tell you in their Manifesto trailer is that it is quickly reset. The events are essentially more exciting active quests that don't appear in a journal. And that IS great in itself! - its just not what they're hyping up for the sake of sales.

@SwobyJ dude im talking about GW2 its not the same game at all anymore... its a persistant world with no quest where players join in events and they added a personal story aside from the main which is pretty much the only instanced thing along with dungeons.

Like you said, it can DEFINITELY be a conteder with GW2 and TERA (please elaborate WHY it's shitty) IF it had an ORIGINAL AND GROUNDBRAKING storyline which makes GW2 and TERA seem like a petty fairy tale in comparison. It needs that to get a chance at the #1 Spot. Also what I didn't mention is that they didn't flaunt BIG CHANGES to the MMORPG franchise like GW2 did (with confidence). If this game has something BIG to offer, it would have hinted so by now.

@MaxDorval I've seen hours of the 'personal story' footage - makes things even more solo play than any sort of 'mmorpg'. And I enjoy the solo play but... for once I want a full on mmorpg, without the corralling of Guild Wars or the greater segregation of the community that WoW has been getting at (instanced battlegrounds, battlegroups, random dungeon finder). I think Rift can be this game.

@MaxDorval Aha.. I bet you're getting that from one (early alpha phase) trailer. The rifts are only one part of the story. There is a hell of a lot more. No Oblivion stuff here (well, except for the Plane of Fire lmao). I'd say the rift stuff is... 1/4 of the story?

Higher end quality without harder graphics requirements.. the reqs for beta, my laptop can play... my laptop is a barely running piece of...

@pnoycreon Weird, all the gameplay shown so far is just mid-alpha stage, and even that looks pretty good. Not spectacular, but certainly not 'hilariously ugly'.
