China has been building an absolutely stunning amount of new infrastructure over the past few years, and the world is just amazed by it, from bridges to highways to airports and large scale green infrastructure that can mitigate pollution and extreme weather. China is doing an Incredible job of making a mark on the world stage. Whilst The USA is dealing with crippling and decrepit infrastructure, a homeless crisis, pollution, flooding and unable to make fast and futuristic public transport that people actually want to use.

The 'dirty coal' coal fired plants add pollution at an exponential rate compared to cars. How many new 'dirty coal' coal fired plants are built each week? Is it two per week?

China builds more new coal plants than rest of the world: they couldn't build the newer 'clean coal' coal fired plants? They had to use obsolete technology.

..but flying cars. The traffic accidents will be epic.

As an Indian, I had high egos with how we were developing until I visited China only to know to know for real in my trip to China that their tier-4 cities had engineering marvels not even tier-1 cities in India have!!

I think China has gone ahead of India by 50 years.

I have humbled myself now.

While I do know that flying cars and taxis are a thing and have been around for a while in research and development. The only issue is safety concerns. Close proximity flying in a congested city with tall buildings and a lot of people is not what I would consider wise. With roads you have better control.

Wow, some of these comments 🤔 I think schools should require an Environmental Science class at every year, start as young as possible. Plus, get their parents involved in some way (to educate them as well). Child development is a trickle down system, not a trickle up way. Teaching them as young as possible about environmental causes & effects 🙂

Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.

I was just in NYC and many of their skyscrapers were spectacular. LaGuardia Airport is impressive. Many projects in The USA are splendid, but much of their infrastructure is old. It is preposterous to compare a bridge that was built last month with one that is 90 years old. Also, many projects in China are not built well. A highway collapsed recently, killing over 40 people, in China. A road in Chengdu collapsed, over a subway station. Lastly, why does so much praise of China involve criticism of The USA? Chinese people should be content with their achievements, and leave it at that. I visited Zurich. Almost everyone there speaks at least three languages, and it is a rich city. Nobody in Zurich ranted about being a more educated, wealthy city than Barcelona or Chicago.

this, this is what cities around the world should be doing, probably not so much on the EV thing(just my opinion) but almost everything else is a must - it seems that countries have forgot the best carbon eaters are trees, you plant tress and bushes etc wherever you can and you can reduce co2 in the air by a good percentage
