That's why they call it the "American Dream", because you have to be asleep to believe it.” ~ George Carlin

Interesting to note that most people who yell and scream about the first amendment tend to forget the first 3 words of it: "Congress shall not...". The first amendment actually does not guarantee anyone the freedom of speech; it simply limits federal governments ability to impede ones freedom of speech.

The fascists: Everyone should be able to say whatever they want, AS LONG AS they only say what WE approve of, and AS LONG AS it aligns with OUR disingenuous and warped beliefs...

Those of us who believe there should be order, in free speech, gun ownership, how money is spent on elections etc don't understand those who see chaos working to their advantage. The more corrupt, dysfunctional, cruel, disorderly everything becomes is the happier those people are. They become richer and more powerful the worse society becomes. We have no understanding of how comfortable they are with the chaos that freaks us

It’s just so ironic that the same people looking to ban books and fire school employees over expressing certain ideas also laid the concept of “free speech”

Free speech for me, but not for thee…

More like 5th Amendment Warriors because it's when these criminals end up in court that's all they can do is plead the Fifth or they can't recall

Citizen united has nothing to do with American citizens. It's all about dark money and lobbyists who can buy politicians with money and power. It's a lot more complicated than that please look up what I'm saying.

The right-wing interpretation of free speech is the same as their interpretation of freedom of religion. They want *their* speech to be free and *their* narrow interpretation of religion to be free while being able to punish the thoughts and beliefs of everyone else.

It amazes me how the GQP is able to promote fascism as "freedom of speech..."

I've got a friend that complains all day about cancel culture but then posts about how athletes should be suspended without pay if they talk politics publicly. And I can't get him to see the irony/hypocrisy in that position.

After watching a few Fox News clips, I definitely believe that speech must have limits. People should be allowed to say anything, but not to broadcast Russian propaganda, dangerous medical misinformation, or advocate racism.
