I am 71 yrs old. I have been organizing my drawers and cupboards this way but of course, not with as beautiful containers as are available now but, one does not need fancy containers - just the right size containers and a good spacial ability,

The less you have, the less you'll have to clean.

I use labels in my home, that way my husband doesn't ask me where things are twenty million times. Lol

Nice tips. I think when you transfer food products into other containers it's important to somehow preserve the expiry date. I like to put that on a label.

I have my clothes organized by the color spectrum like a rainbow. I start with black on the left and finish with white on the right. Black -ROYGBIV -White
My closet looks great and it is easy to find what you want by color.

I organize my hanging shirts by sleeve length because when I get dressed in the morning that’s the criteria by which I decide. If it’s hot I want sleeveless. If it’s cold I want long sleeves. And so on.

Hi, I'm a big fan of Marie Kondo and I like your interpretation of her ideas. Enjoyed watching - you have a lovely voice.

I need to have labels to minimize the guesswork of the item. I might mix up soap and lotion, shampoo and conditioner, oats and granola, etc.
The other tips I'm good with and I follow. Been really into KonMari Method since Oct 2018! Yes, it is life changing!

People working at shoe shops were always happy to give me shoe boxes. If I came at a non-busy hour they even gave me the most beautiful ones :)

I never thought about that, but after seeing the video, I see how the labels create clutter. The bottles do look nice without them. And I also will get a container to put my pasta in :) 1 container = 3 pasta boxes :)

Dividers and boxes wisely used are amazing! A no label storage strategy means that you need to have a very clear idea of what you use and does not allow you to buy futile extras, Grannies were used to do like that

a really good tip for organizing your closet! a lot of us have wardrobes that go all over the place in terms of different color, texture, and length. I find it the most visually pleasing to sort by garment type, sleeve/hem length, and then color/sometimes texture (I own a lot of black, but in different fabrics i.e cotton, velvet, lace, etc) in that order.. it's such a nice, comfortable way to store clothing.

it's a good way to have drastically different cuts and colors of clothing hanging together while still looking intentional and gradual. going from a black tank top to a grey tank top, then a grey tank top to black t shirt, then to a white long sleeve is visually easier to follow than a black tank top to a black t shirt to a grey tank top to a white long sleeve.

while it's not a solid gradient, it actually ends up functioning slightly easier because each color block is a different type of garment so you can see exactly what you have of that style.

It's so great how KonMari gives us the how to for those who have no clue, but for those of us who have some idea, can change it to fit our lifestyle.

A big tip when decluttering & discarding is (if available & accessible) is to terracycle your items before putting it in the garbage! Not only are you tidying up your life but you are helping out the planet as well!
