Mysterious Sinkholes Plaguing Turkey

Mysterious sinkholes are plaguing Turkey and they appear randomly without notice. There are 2500 known sink holes in Turkey and 16 of them came in the first 9 months of 2022. It is believed that severe droughts in the region are leaving layers of limestone brittle until they fully collapse.

Sink holes are usually caused by excessive amounts of water underground so that’s weird
