NOTIFICATION SQUAD: Are you ready for Ryotaro and his hidden jam?!
I'm not.

Can we get a series where Natsuki drags you along a whole entire trip that he planned himself and do whatever he wants without saying no

Chris: "After 5 years, we've finally figured it out."

Ryotaro's neverending sarcasm and Natsuki's shenanigans always bring a smile to my face. Love this channel.

There is just something about Chris uploading a new video that gives me a huge amount of joy. It's like catching up again with a very old friend, and I have never even met him. I appreciate him so much for his years of top quality content, and the ability to grow up alongside one of the best YouTubers the site has and will ever know is something that I cherish.

I love how Chris thoroughly researches his source material for his videos, such as when he combs through old family albums to find childhood photos of Ryotaro.

Alex is me while eating. Very relatable, I love it. :')

Honestly, i find Ryotaro hilarious. That conversation about how he eats his shaved ice was the best!

Eating with these guys had my anxiety level up. Taking in members to whoever wants to join my Slow Eaters Club! ✋✋

Calling out Alex for enjoying her meal was the cutest most genuine moment that usually end up in making of, or omitted but ended up in the video and I loved that

Chris, you've cost me $8000! (But happily so)

For many years I've been watching your awesome content and my daughter has been watching along with me. She particularly loves this Asakusa video.

When my daughter turned 5 she asked me if we could go to Japan for her 6th birthday, not thinking she was serious I casually said 'sure, why not'. Honestly I thought she'd forget about it all - but did she? Heck no!

Anyway, her birthday is in January 2023 and we are booked to go to Japan for nearly a month. We're even staying a few nights in the same Ryokan as in this video and we have managed to find the same dessert place - my daughter, Charlotte, is desperate to eat the shaved ice and the blue Hawaiian drink you guys have.

So, you've cost me $8K in flights but it's with a smile on my face I'm saying that. Thanks for all your wonderful YouTube and Podcast content, can't wait to be back in Japan in just a few short months from now. Cheers, Rowan

Chris: mocks Ryotaro for saying “Hidden jam”

Me: Yeah, okay mister “crows and cons”.

Legend has it that under the dark gritty underground of Asakusa, Alex is still finishing her plate of yakisoba.

I always love when you interact with who is behind the camera, makes the journey more than our lovable british man and our guest of the week, we get to have a 3 person dynamic rather than a 2 person one

I understood so much just by “it’s more strawberry than strawberry” than Chris’ eloquently spoken descriptions.

more strawberry than strawberry is another reference to bladerunner... "more human than human". Deep cut there ryotaro

2:55 The Asahi Headquarters building really was built to emulate a mug of beer, but Ryotoro skipped mentioning the more (in)famous part of that complex which is partially visible to just to the right - the "Flamme d'Or" - known colloquially as "The Golden Turd". The architect intended the structure to be a golden flame representing the spirit of the Asahi Brewery workers. If you take a Sumida River boat tour, it will take you right by both buildings as well as give a great view of the Tokyo Skytree.

Chris: Ryotoro is my worst enemy.

Also Chris: does multiple collabs featuring him.
