Management of HIV/AIDS typically includes the use of multiple antiretroviral (ARV) therapies as a strategy to control HIV infection. This session will review global guidelines for ARV treatment, and through critical examination of select cases, the benefits and pitfalls of rapid vs delayed ARV initiation will be considered.

1) Review first-line antiretroviral treatment regimens.
2) Propose guidance on the right approach to ARV initiation for each individual seeking treatment.
3) Examine the role of Doravirine in patient care.
