Just to point out that this is the census for England and Wales. It's not Britain or the UK, TLDR. The Scottish census was not taken until 20 March 2022 and the results of it will not start to be released until 2023.

59.3% to 46.2% is not a 13.1% decrease. It is a 13 _percentage point_ decrease. The decrease as a percentage is 22.09%.

Slight correction: You said there's a 12 point decrease in those who don't follow any religion but it's a 12 point increase. This will be clear to anyone watching the video, of course, but not to people who're just listening.

As a someone who lived in the UK and moved back to Czechia while census was teking place in both countries it was so interesting to see what each of them wanted to know-the UK was puting so much focus to race, etnicity, religion... and Czechia was puting focus to number of people in households+details about them (how many meters is the flat you live in, what they use for heating...). It would be interesting to have some standardised questions for all countries that do census+every country could add some of their own so the results could be much more easily comparable across differend countries.

In 1961, London was 97% indigenous British and by 2021 only 36.8%. If this trend continues, in 30 years they'll make up a mere 6% or less.

Incredible and sad to think in a 100 years the capital city of the UK went from almost 100% indigenous to almost 100% non-indigenous.

Extremely disappointed that unlike the 2001 and 2011 census, not enough people answered that their religion was "Jedi".

It may be wise in future videos to differentiate between percentage & percentage points

Capital city only 37% native. It's genuinely embarrassing.

Pretty crazy though how many conspiracy theorists treated the census workers so badly when they only visited to see if they needed help

So much for “it’s just a conspiracy theory that we’re becoming a minority”.

This is not the British census, it is the England and Wales census.

There's something I've always wondered about counting "married individuals". Do you count the couples as a single unit or separately?

Christianity is dying and Islam is slowly becoming dominant in whole Europe 🙄

The UK isn't a minority Christian country, it's a plurality Christian country, Christians are still the largest religious group.

I really don't know why everyone is panicking about the Christian one. There've been hardly any Christians in the UK for decades. The only difference is that fewer people are bothering to pretend that because they got a christening, or went to the boyscouts, or go to Church at Christmas they are in some way religious. Most of the people who would call themselves Christian in the UK are probably less religious than your average American agnostic.

When it comes to the Veterans portion of the census, this was the first census that asked the question, are you a veteran? So there really isn't much detail they can give as there is nothing to compare it to.

I am currently a student at Birmingham City University and I can tell you from first hand experience that
No1. Out of a class of 50 there is only 5 indigenous brits.
No2. The majority of people on the course are foreigners who have attained a student visa. They are then able to bring there entire family here as "dependants" some of these people don't take the course seriously as they aren't for the course but an easy way to gain entry to the country.
