Are you gonna give us a cartoon demo where a character starts with a standard saw & cuts a hole in the floor to drop his adversary or escape from same?
There's no demo/explanation in the vid.

Oscillating saws are now available, and are easyer to obtain then a floor saw.you can also do a plung cut with a electric jig saw.
Put the jig saw on its curved toes with the saw blade above the area whare of the cut. Turn the saw on and slowly swing the ossalating blade down to engage the wood.

Mr. Burns, my high school woodshop teacher showed the class that trick. I showed it to my buddy Matthew when he was cutting holes in masonite for window openings for a building he was making for our train club layout.
