I don’t really see how Hunt can be supported over this current issue. The OBR have put into writing that they will review Hunt’s submission to them over his last Budget and the Treasury have seemed to accept Reeves side of the argument. I think if I were Hunt I might take a lower profile. The implications from the OBR is that Hunt might not have included the details Reeves has exposed. Plus has Hunt specifically declined Reeves figures line by line . I don’t think so.

The problem for most if not all of the tories, is they've demonstrated over many years now, that they are more than capable of lying. Public perhaps used to give benefit of doubt, but that all changed after Partygate and everything that has emerged since. They've only got themselves to blame - collective responsibility has its downsides!

I'm fuming once again. It's the same story: taking from the poor to keep the top 1%—whose combined wealth exceeds that of the bottom 25% of the UK population—happy. After so many years of Tory rule, I expected better from Labour, but it turns out they're even worse.

As for the claims about a "black hole" in the finances, it's absolute nonsense. They knew the financial situation before they came to power. Claiming otherwise is an outright lie.

Old people who are eligible for benefits will get a 50% higher heating allowance - no pinching from those that need it. Rich old geezers wont be eligible.

Re winter fuel allowance, I believe it totally reasonable what is planned. If you don't have sufficient funds to heat your home in winter then it is proper that an additional benefit is given. But if you have more than adequate funds to heat your home then it is a misuse of public money.
