The Chinese Communist party has proclaimed the People's Republic of China an officially atheist state, and while on paper religion is allowed, its purest form is censored. In this episode of China Unscripted, we talk about how the CCP's atheism makes it a dangerous partner, what China has been doing in the Solomon Islands, and the Solomon Islands' switch from recognizing Taiwan to recognizing China. Joining us in this episode of China Unscripted is Celsus Talifilu, political advisor to the premier of Malaita Province, Daniel Suidani.

Where were the CCP during RAMSI, when the Solomon Islands' true friends were there to help when things collapsed?

"Atheism with Chinese Characteristics"

The report the PM used to make the decision was written by a group chaired by the current Solomon Islands ambassador to Beijing and no discussion with the electorates. I hope for the people of the Solomon Islands they haven't been sold out and made them a focus of a future military conflict. I hope China doesn't object to their churches.

I think it is a good idea China Unscripted talks directly with people involved with issues like this, otherwise no one gets to understand what is going on!

Governments around the World better learn from Sri Lanka - The 'People's Will' will prevail. Mess with the people.. and you Will be overthrown. The People hold True Power. 😎

Atheism means little actually. Some of the nicest and most compassionate people I have known didn't believe in a God. So that alone is not some determinant of being dangerous. There are plenty of other things to point to with China if you want to talk about what makes them dangerous.

Tough to take this kind of complaint seriously from an island nation that essentially functions as an evangelical theocracy, and that has regularly suspended the freedom of religion for their own citizens when "reasonably required". Sounds more like whingeing about outsiders introducing "dangerous ideas".

This is the exact issue. Atheism does not believe in accountability to a higher authority. May God teach the CCP 🙏

I usually like your videos but the atheist point is just dumb. Scandinavian countries and Australia are highly irreligious and are open societies, in fact the religious politicians are usually the worst ones. Secularism is certainly a preferable form of rule to a government ruled by a religious group. Any ideology can be dangerous; either political or religious and atheism is neither. Atheism is simply a statement of non-belief and there is literally nothing else to the word, it isn't politics or religious. It's like saying I don't believe in cave trolls. I'm not sure how simply believing in a myth makes you a better person.

Worldviews matter people! Only 2 exist, the worldview of truth and the worldview of lies! The Christian worldview makes 100% sense of reality.

Atheism isn't the problem at all. See Sweden and Saudi Arabia. Authoritarianism is the issue.

I always feel most atheists worship certain people or ideoligies, but not a God. Communists worship Stalin or Mao. Fascists worship a certain German chansellor that lived during WW2. More neutral Atheists worship Darwin and his ilk. Most Atheists I have met though in real life have been of the neutral kind, that also respects religious people and tend to be kind. But just like the most religious people, they are also blinded by/trust in certain people they are huge fans/worship of without quite understanding what they treach

Notice anything about the islands china is gobbling up? Look at maps of the imperial Japanese expansions, the Japanese used those islands as defensive lines. Ever heard of Guadalcanal? Yep it's in the Solomon islands

Plenty of people have argued that in a Communist country COMMUNISM is their religion. You are giving atheism a bad name here. I hope you would reconsider because plenty of Nordic countries are also majority atheistic but they are just a fine people and a fine country. I'm a long time Patreon supporter of yours. Even though it's a small amount. It's not nothing.

I like this channel a lot but please don't spread misconceptions. Atheism means you don't have an imaginary friend and that is all. No strings attached. (The most advanced and happiest countries in the world with lowest crime rates are also the least religious.)

The only reason some people believe in a supernatural creator is because they were subjected to childhood indoctrination, e.g. they were fed magical stories as kids before their critical thinking kicked in, so they carried them over to adulthood. There's nothing special about it.
