In this video I review my Harbor Freight 21 gallon air compressor (item #47065, which has long ago been discontinued, but is very similar to item numbers: 61454, 67847, 61693, 62803, 69091, 63635) after 14 years of ownership. Of course, what brought the review to mind was that was it was broken, so I also had to repair it by replacing the pressure control switch.

Loved the vid; great humor too! Keep it up. My compressor, for sure has been 'used' well beyond it's rated duty cycle running a sand blaster, plasma cutter and regular shop tools. I figure, keep the oil up and changed and keep on pressing. The reed vales, this pressure switch and cold start vales are basically the 3 things that can and do go wrong on these - and ALL are easy to fix!

For the oil drain, i would add a ball stop valve with some rubber or flared that comes off which would be easier to drain the oil .

If the blue capacitor was doubled in size the compressor would start easier with it being able to store more power to start.

Duty cycle is what separates quality from the home gamer. I'm wondering what you could realistically do to increase the heat dissipation abilities of this thing. Heat buildup is probably the single biggest thing with these cheap units that send them to the grave eventually.

I have the same one so I have a ? When I started up my psi go 40 then trip the relay then go to 60 not sure if you can help me to diagnose the problem.
