Just a headcanon, but Matilda has always been a personal favorite. Ofcourse its just a childrens book, but the way her brain works is still relatable to me to this day

So is the book “Under shifting stars”. I highly recommend it. Not only is one main character neurodivergent, but the other one is figuring out their gender identity and sexuality. We love it ❤️

I’m reading a kind of spark for school! Our English teacher is autistic and I love her! I’ve also read show us who you are, which has 2 characters who are autistic and Have ADHD. I really love these books!

And they’re really good because they help me understand it a bit more. It’s helped me with my younger brother, who is non verbal.

I knew the character was autistic before it was properly said. Took me only a few pages to just go "yep she is autistic"

Out of My Mind by Sharon M Draper is an amazing book. I read it not too long ago and it was really good.

Another good book, one of the main characters is autistic, and the other has suffered trauma and is in foster care. The book is also about saving the environment. It's called "How to save the world with a chicken and an egg"
I recommend, it's really good.

"Can you see me" and "Ways to be me"(same series)centers around Tally Adams starting Secondary school and the other a flashback to her diagnosis 😊

I have a few of these on my list, I also just read Welcome Caller which isn't entirely about autism but its a Queer&Neurodivergent romance that I adore with some really good chapters about living with autism/adhd ect. also written by a queer&neurodivergent author I definitely recommend it

I read a book in middle school, called mocking bird, about a girl with Asperger's Syndrome (a form of Autism spectrum disorder) and it’s based on the true story a girl who lost her brother in a school shooting (Virginia Tech massacre) and her coping with the loss.
